Have you heard of Tapia de Casariego? It is one of the most interesting seaside towns in Asturias. Here you can enjoy its port, its lighthouse, exquisite gastronomy, palaces, emblazoned houses, fortified forts and, of course, beautiful beaches, some of which are perfect for surfing.
Today we want to take you to this Asturian council to discover four of its most beautiful beaches. Would you like to join us?
Penarronda Beach
First of all, we would like to talk to you about Penarronda Beach, which is actually shared by the councils of Tapia and Castropol. The beach is divided by the stream of the same name and is surprising for its flora, which includes the sea wallflower, an endangered species found nowhere else in Asturias.
Serantes Beach
We would also like to tell you about Serantes Beach, which is located at the end of some green meadows, at the mouth of the river Tol. It is a large sandy area made up of dunes and marshes. With fine sand and moderate waves, it is ideal for sport fishing and scuba diving enthusiasts.
Beach of Anguileiro or Los Campos
Another beach in Tapia de Casariego that we would like to highlight is Playa de Anguileiro, also known as Playa de Los Campos. This is an urban beach located next to the meanders of the river Anguileiro. Here you will find numerous services, as well as ideal conditions for surfing.
Beach of Mexota
Finally, we would like to tell you about Mexota Beach, a haven of crystal-clear waters separated in two by an islet. This beautiful sandy beach is protected by high cliffs and offers white sands and moderate waves. Best of all, it is a beach with little traffic, as access is not easy. For this reason, it is frequented by many nudists.
