Calo des moro a family beach in paradisiacal surroundings

From the Canary Islands we move to the Balearic Islands to show you a totally different scenario to the volcanic landscape of Charco de los Clicos, although it is just as beautiful. This is CalĂł des Moro, a rocky sandy beach that is very popular in summer, but well worth a look and, of course, a swim.

Six kilometres from SantanyĂ, Mallorca, you will find this unspoilt slope nestled between high walls covered with pines, bushes, broom and mastic trees. Large rocks dotted with white sand welcome bathers, who will find a quiet spot ideal for diving thanks to its crystal-clear waters.

A very small beach

One of the main characteristics of the beach is its size: it is so small that in summer, if you arrive later than nine o’clock, you may not be able to find a place to spread out your towel. It is also important to bear in mind that CalĂł des Moro faces east, which means that in the morning the sun will be facing you, but as the hours go by the sun will disappear.

No services

Both anchoring is allowed on this beach, as there are three or four-metre probes, as well as nudism, but you must bear in mind that it does not have any kind of services, so it is important to bring provisions for the day.

Easy access

As we suppose that this impressive Mallorcan cove has enchanted you, we are going to explain how to get there. The access is quite complicated and the few signs that there are are a bit hidden. In fact, some locals put up false signs so that it is not easy to find. From Es Llombards, 4 km from the municipality of SantanyĂ, take the road towards Cala s’Almunia and Cala Es Llombards. At the fork in the road, after 3.5 kilometres, turn right and continue to the Sa Comuna cottages, where you will have to leave your car to go down the stairs to the beach.
