Murcia is well known for its beautiful beaches and also for the spectacular atmosphere in some of its most touristy areas such as La Manga del Mar Menor. If you are looking for a place to spend a relaxing and fun holiday, don’t hesitate, Murcia can offer you everything you need!
Calblanque, also known as Playa Larga, is one of the most popular beaches in the entire autonomous community, and not precisely because it has a particularly touristy atmosphere but because of the opposite: the unspoilt environment of Calblanque is charming, hidden from everything else thanks to the green and somewhat arid vegetation of the surrounding mountains.
This coastline stretches for more than a kilometre and a half to offer you magnificent fine golden sand and crystal clear waters in which you won’t be able to resist more than one dip, especially after a few hours under the powerful Mediterranean sun.
Despite being a place relatively far from tourism, this beach on the Costa CĂĄlida has a considerable occupation in the main summer months, when hundreds of naturist tourists arrive (although you won’t have any problems if it’s not your thing).
Belonging to the Cartagena Park Protected Natural Area, Calblanque is just a small part of the natural space of around 2,000 hectares of protected beaches that will undoubtedly be a pleasure to visit. In addition to the magnificent flora, in the area you can also contemplate the most beautiful Mediterranean fauna in the Rasall salt flats, where you will find species such as flamingos, storks and plovers.
However, if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, you can also visit (and even stay) in the area of La Manga del Mar Menor, which is just 12 kilometres from Calblanque.
