The Balearic archipelago has one of the most beautiful Mediterranean coastal landscapes and is also one of the favourite sun and beach destinations for national and international travellers.
The island of Minorca, specifically, is one of the most popular in that it offers all kinds of idyllic beaches, from the most touristy and busy urban ones to the most reserved ones where you will feel lucky.
It’s not difficult to get to the most popular and crowded beaches on the island, but how do you know about the quieter, more secluded ones? This website will help you get to know some of the most beautiful ones.
– Es Talaier, Ciutadella de Menorca: A beautiful beach located to the south of the most beautiful and charming town on the island, Ciutadella. It is located next to the popular Son Saura and is one of the most typical pictures of the island thanks to its beautiful shallow turquoise waters and its very fine white sand.
– Cala en Turqueta, Ciutadella: It is said to be the most beautiful of the island, something that is difficult to contradict after taking a look at its idyllic scenery or enjoying it live… The most Mediterranean environment together with an idyllic beach of white sand and crystalline waters are responsible for this.
– Cala Pregonda, Es Mercadal: It competes with the previous one for the title of most beautiful unspoilt beach, although in this case the golden sand and the small rocky islets in front of the shore are the main characteristics. The beach can only be reached by boat or on foot from the Binimel-la car park, although the walk from the latter is really tiring (about 30 minutes over difficult terrain).
Other beaches of this type that you cannot miss are those of Macarelleta (next to the famous Macarella), Binigaus (Es Migjorn), Cala Mica (Es Mercadal), Ses Salines (Es Mercadal), Cala Presili (Mahón) or Cala Sant Llorenç (Alaior), for example.
