Sant francesc cove in blanes

In the middle of autumn and suffering from very low temperatures, today we want to bring you a little closer to summer by talking about one of the magnificent beaches in our country. In fact, to enjoy dream beaches we don’t need to travel to the other side of the world; we can find incredibly beautiful spots within our borders. Some of the most impressive are to be found on the Costa Brava, in Catalonia. Have you had the chance to visit it?

Today we are going to tell you about one of the most beautiful coves that can be found in the area: Cala Sant Francesc, also known as Cala Bona. Located in Blanes, in the south of the region of La Selva, this is one of the locals’ favourite sandy beaches, away from the overcrowded beaches of Blanes and Lloret de Mar. Would you like to know a little more about it?

Golden sand and clear waters

The Sant Francesc cove is a semi-urban beach of fine golden sand and about 200 metres in length that has all the necessary infrastructures: lifeguard posts, a beach bar, a restaurant… However, what is most striking are its calm, crystal-clear waters. Moreover, as it is close to the rocks, it is a perfect place for diving.

Ideal for families

This beach surrounded by pine trees is ideal for families due to its size and facilities. The only problem is that during the months of July and August, especially at weekends, there is usually not room for a single pin. However, the months of June and September are ideal for a visit.

Blue Flag

Thanks to its services and the quality of its waters, it has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded each year by the European Foundation for Environmental Education to beaches and ports that meet standards of water quality, general service provision, safety and environmental management.
