Cala pilar a spectacular unspoilt beach in the north of menorca

Cala Pilar7
Paradise exists and, indeed, it is in Minorca. This beautiful Balearic island boasts dream beaches such as Cala Mitjana, Cala Macarelleta and Cala Pregonda. Today we want to continue discovering the island by exploring another spectacular beach: Cala Pilar, located in an unspoilt setting in the north of the island.

Its remote location in the north of Menorca (accessible only on foot), the clay with which naturists smear themselves, the red and ochre of the hill and the pine trees that surround it, make this beach a unique setting. Would you like to discover it in more depth? Then come and see for yourself!

Spectacular sandy beach surrounded by nature

As you can see in the images we offer you in the gallery, this is a spectacular sandy area surrounded by nature and characterised by the reddish-gold colour of the sand. Of course, as in many other beaches in Menorca, its crystal-clear, almost transparent water is a delight for visitors, as long as the Tramontana does not blow. The wind is Cala Pilar’s worst enemy, as the waves make swimming difficult.

No services

It is important to bear in mind that this is a small beach and that it does not have any kind of service. In addition, there are not many shaded areas, so if you plan to be there for a long time, you should be prepared with water, food and an umbrella. As you can imagine, this is a fantastic area for snorkelling and diving, so don’t forget your goggles and flippers.

Access to the beach

Cala Pilar is located between Ferreries and Ciutadella and to reach it you have to walk along a path surrounded by forest for about 30 minutes. Of course, if you have the opportunity, you can also get there by boat and anchor it close to the coast.
