Moraig cove in alicante

Alicante’s coastline is one of those that offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole peninsula, from the most urban and crowded during the summer months to the most secluded and isolated beaches where you can enjoy a relaxing day on the sand.

The beautiful Cala del Moraig, in Benitatxell (or Benitachell), has a bit of all of the above: On the one hand, the cove is in a secluded setting, although on the other hand it seems not isolated enough to prevent it from being relatively busy, especially during the main summer months.
And it is not surprising that this is the case, as this small beach of barely 500 metres (80 metres wide) is located at the foot of an imposing cliff of up to one hundred metres that gives it a wild and special aspect that attracts both locals and hundreds of tourists who do not want to miss its charms.

The beach floor is made up of golden and whitish pebbles, perhaps not as comfortable as the fine sand of other beaches in the Comunitat but comfortable enough for you to avoid getting off your sun lounger.

The natural charm of Cala Moraig is completed by the beauty of its waters, as the waters of the Mediterranean come here clean and crystalline like a swimming pool, acquiring a beautiful turquoise colour.

In addition to all this, in the area of the cove you can visit the Cova dels Arcs, an aquatic cave that diving enthusiasts will love as it is ideal for getting to know the seabed of the area.

Despite its small size, this beach is one of the most visited in the area due to the special climatic conditions that favour sunshine ‘more than 300 days a year’, with an average annual temperature of 21ÂșC.

As if this were not enough, the beach has good facilities and services such as a nearby car park, beach bar and disabled access.
