Fornells cove a hidden treasure in mallorca

Sometimes I love long, kilometre-long beaches that seem to have no end. Walking along them on their fine, golden sand is a real luxury. But there are other times when I just want to lose myself in a secluded, natural cove, with crystalline waters, protected from the sea winds. On those occasions, Cala Fornells is my favourite.

It is on the island of Mallorca, very close to the town of CalviĂ , and despite the touristy nature of the area, full of accommodation and hotels, it is still possible to enjoy this marvel of nature with a little privacy. However, if you really want to get to know it, avoid the most crowded summer months.

Sheltered by the mountains

Cala Fornells beach is about 30 metres long and 30 metres wide. As you can see, it is small and special. Its sand is golden and its waters are calm and turquoise. Protected from the north winds by the mountains of the Tramontana range, the temperature here is mild at any time of the year, pleasant for swimming and outdoor activities. Although it is almost entirely sandy, the beach has a small rocky area.

The setting is also a privilege, as the cove is surrounded by lush vegetation and a forest of autochthonous pine trees. Undoubtedly, an incentive to add to those previously mentioned to decide for this cove if we want to spend a pleasant day at the beach. Furthermore, for anything you may need, in the vicinity of Cala Fornells you will find Paguera, a small tourist complex with all kinds of services. Its promenade promises really pleasant strolls.
