As we have already mentioned on many occasions, although the Costa Brava takes all the limelight as far as the Catalan coastline is concerned, the beaches in the province of Tarragona are also very interesting. For this and for other reasons (the historical and cultural heritage of the area, Port Aventura, charming villages…), the Costa Dorada is also visited by many tourists during the summer.
A beautiful beach that few tourists know about is Cala Canyadell, also known as Cala dels Capellans. Would you like to discover it? We assure you that you won’t regret it!
Between Altafulla and Torredembarra
The cove we are showing you today is located on the border between the municipalities of Altafulla and Torredembarra. As you can see for yourself by taking a look at the images we show you in our gallery, it is a small and wide cove with calm and crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkelling.
Spectacular scenery
With fine golden sand, this beach is located next to an imposing system of cliffs, which are two kilometres long and up to 25 metres high. It is undoubtedly a spectacular landscape, combining typical Mediterranean vegetation with bare rock. On the other hand, you should know that here you can enjoy some services, such as an access ramp to the sand, litter bins, showers, lifeguards and a small beach bar.
An important archaeological monument
Before leaving you with the photos of the beach, we would like to mention that about 500 metres from the beach is the Roman villa of Els Munts, one of the most interesting archaeological monuments in the province. Here is our gallery, where you will find more images of this beach located in the province of Tarragona. Don’t miss it!
