Binibeca a place you can’t miss in menorca

Binibeca (also known as Binibèquer) is an idyllic place to spend a couple of days of disconnection on the Balearic island of Menorca, and both the incredible natural and urban landscape make this beach a place difficult to forget.

This beach, 150 metres long and 105 metres wide (approximately), is the result of a wide sea inlet that creates a beautiful horseshoe of white sand around the beach, dotted with beautiful vegetation and pine trees, an almost typical image of Menorcan beaches. Around the beach there are also small, low rocky outcrops that are not intimidated by the sea and provide a perfect place to contemplate the horizon and forget about the rest of the world.

Despite the incredible natural surroundings of this beach in the municipality of Sant LluĂs, I wouldn’t choose Binibeca as one of the best beaches in Minorca if it weren’t for its urban setting, a picturesque village of typical small houses and whitewashed buildings of low height (no more than two floors) whose alleys you can stroll through and take long photo shoots.

If you get hungry in between, you can find numerous bars and restaurants in the streets of the village, as well as some shops and supermarkets.

With such a spectacle I can assure you that you will not feel remorseful about lying down for hours to be caressed by the soft Mediterranean breeze on the fine sand, getting lost in the crystal clear waters, tasting the best gastronomy of the area in the restaurants near the beach or having a cold beer in the beach bar without having anything else to do but enjoy your precious free time.

Fortunately, the beach is not overcrowded even in the summer months, which is the best time of the year to go. If you want to move around quietly, because on an island of Menorca’s size it won’t take you too long to get to other more bustling places like MahĂłn, which is only eight kilometres away.
