The Region of Valencia has all the necessary ingredients to enjoy the good weather as it should be enjoyed, and I’m not just talking about the possibility of eating paella on a terrace near the coast, which is also possible.
I’m talking about enjoying its beaches, which are among the best in Spain for their cleanliness and how well equipped they are. In fact, there are some that surprise you with their turquoise waters, as is the case with the five shown below.
Muchavista Beach (Campello, Alicante)
In Campello, a municipality located 13 kilometres northwest of Alicante, an extensive beach of 3.3 kilometres in length fills up easily during the summer months, which is not surprising considering the beauty of the place. From May to September fun is guaranteed, and it doesn’t matter if you are a child or an adult. In addition, you can also take the opportunity to practice certain water sports such as paddle surfing.
Albir Beach (Alfaz del Pi, Alicante)
Without leaving the province of Alicante we can go to another five-star beach. Playa del Albir, in Alfaz del Pi, is 500 metres long and 100 metres wide. These dimensions are not bad, but they are too small in months like July and August. That’s why I recommend you get up early, otherwise you’ll have serious problems to place your towel. What can you do there? Take a dip and enjoy the views of the seabed, as you’ll have no trouble spotting crustaceans, octopus and posidonia meadows if you’re wearing snorkelling goggles.
Granadella Cove (JĂĄvea, Alicante)
The trio of Alicante beaches with turquoise waters is completed by a cove, Granadella. It is a rather small sandy area with gravel and white rocks that is ideal for scuba diving. Moreover, we should not make the mistake of considering it a wild beach with no services, as it is well equipped. On the other hand, it must be said that it is 160 metres long, which explains why in summer it is difficult to spend a quiet day on the shore.

Terranova Beach (Oliva, Valencia)
In Oliva, Valencia, is one of my favourite beaches. Terranova has everything you would want to find: a good atmosphere, fine sand, clean turquoise waters… All this in a little more than one kilometre long and 40 metres wide. You can also go surfing or windsurfing, and best of all, it is a beach that is not usually packed to the rafters even during the most touristy weeks of the year.
Carregador Beach (Alcocéber, Castellón)
The people of CastellĂłn also boast beaches, especially those who live in AlcocĂ©ber. There, on the Costa de Azahar, is the Playa del Carregador, with some 850 metres of fine sand that does not take long to fill up when the mercury rises. There is a sailing school, an area for children to play, beach volleyball fields, trampolines, skate rental service…
