Haven’t you booked your summer holidays yet or are you thinking of extending them beyond what you had planned to enjoy the beach? If so, I have to recommend three destinations that you won’t regret, as you’ll be able to make the most of the good weather.
All three are in Europe and all three have everything to offer you a relaxing holiday with family or friends. Would you like to get to know them?
Before travelling, get well informed
As always, we recommend you gather as much information as possible to travel without any surprises. It is good to rely on reviews and opinions to be sure that we will have a great trip. We offer you these destinations in this post thanks to the Travelgenio reviews we have collected from the users of this website.
Sardinia
At this point no one is surprised that Sardinia is considered to be the Caribbean of Europe. It has spectacular beaches along its 1,849 kilometres of coastline, the most recommendable of which are to be found in the Costa Smeralda area.
In addition to incredible sandy beaches, you can also sample the best of Mediterranean cuisine at good prices, since in Sardinia, as elsewhere in Italy, pasta and pizzas are the star dishes.
Formentera
It is an island where tranquillity is guaranteed. It is small in size and boasts some impressive beaches. In fact, there is Ses Illetes, which is one of the regulars in the rankings of the best beaches in Europe due to the cleanliness of its waters and the pinkish tone of its sand.
At night it is also possible to enjoy Formentera thanks to the bars located right on the beach, such as the Blue Bar, which is undoubtedly one of the best known. It’s not particularly cheap, but it’s worth having a drink there, just a few metres from the shore and with the best music playing in the background.
Algarve
The beaches of the Algarve are not like those of Sardinia or Formentera, but that does not mean that they are not on the same level. Its huge cliffs allow you to enjoy a unique landscape that is not only enjoyed on the beach, but also allows you to complete hiking routes that are hard to forget.
This Portuguese paradise only has one drawback, and that is that the water of its beaches is colder than those of Sardinia or Formentera, as the Atlantic is a larger body of water than the Mediterranean and this is noticeable when it’s time to take a dip.
