Trebaluger a cove isolated from the urban areas of menorca

Cala Trebaluger 1
Choosing the best beach in Menorca is not an easy task. This is the question you always ask us, but answering it without making a mistake is practically impossible, as each person has their own tastes and preferences when it comes to taking a good dip.

For those who are looking for a quiet place away from civilisation, Trebalúger is undoubtedly a great option. It is not possible to get there by car or public transport, so it has nothing to do with other beaches that are packed to the rafters in July and August.

A pearl of the Mediterranean

It is about 7 kilometres from Migjorn Gran and can only be reached via the Camí de Cavalls, either on foot from Cala Mitjana or from Santo Tomás. Either that or you can take a boat to get to the shore. The path is quite wide and from Cala Mitjana it takes about half an hour.

Cala Trebaluger 2It is a beach of white sand and crystalline waters located in the south of Menorca. It is not as famous as Cala Turqueta or Binigaus, which are also in the south, and that is why it remains a great alternative for those who are looking to get away from the crowds.

The Trebalúger river

What sets it apart from the others is the small Trebalúger river that flows into the sea. That and the spectacular views of the bay of Cala Mitjana that can be enjoyed along the path from the car park of this cove to Trebalúger. The only drawback is that the river water has been polluted by substances such as mercury and arsenic for many years. Fortunately, in 2012 the Town Council of Ferreries and the Government of the Balearic Islands reached an agreement to stop the pollution, but we do not know to what extent the actions carried out have been effective.
