Beaches of alicante

Those of us who spend our summers on the Spanish coast feel especially comfortable with the fun and familiar atmosphere of most of the beaches on the peninsula, and as the protagonist of a classic film said: ‘It’s better at home than anywhere else’…

In this case we wanted to talk to you about the wonderful beaches of Alicante, where you will enjoy more than 244 kilometres of coastline. In fact, the province can boast the highest number of beaches rated as ‘excellent’ in the Valencian Community according to the control carried out by the Environment, which takes into account the quality of the water, the maintenance of the beaches and their services.
Here are just a few of the best of them, so don’t miss them!

– El Carabassí, Elche: A beautiful beach where crystal clear waters bathe a shore of beautiful white sand. There you will enjoy a very lively atmosphere, as many people want to enjoy it despite the few services provided by this practically undeveloped beach (just a beach bar, sun loungers and umbrellas). Nudism is practised in the southernmost part of the beach.

– Tabarca: Attention scuba diving lovers, because this is the best area to practice your great hobby thanks to the magnificent seabed that characterises it. Although in the area you will find a more urban and lively beach, the best thing to do is to get lost and explore in search of some beautiful coves.

– El Racó de l’Albir (Alfaz del Pi): Although in the peak summer months it is quite crowded, this is a beach worth visiting (something that guarantees its ‘Excellent’ rating and the Blue Flag awarded by the European Union). Its clean, transparent waters, its peaceful surroundings and its promenade have a lot to do with this.

– L’Esparrelló and La Caleta (Villajoyosa): Located in an area of cliffs, these beautiful beaches have only a few basic services such as security, sunshades and sunbeds or showers (the former less than the latter).

– Granadella (Jávea): This is a beach of gravel and pebbles, but you will find an ideal environment for a day at the beach thanks to its beautiful natural surroundings and its services (security, bars, etc.).
