Hondarribia beach 800 metres of natural beauty

Spain is full of magnificent beaches. One of them is Hondarribia, a beautiful town in the province of Guipúzcoa that attracts tourists for several reasons.

Apart from the beach, which I’ll talk about next, Hondarribia has a beautiful old town (surrounded by a medieval wall) and they are specialists in pintxos, something that is put on trial year after year with the celebration of the Euskal Herria Pintxos Championship organised by the Hondarribia Hotel and Catering Association, with the participation of the best chefs in the Basque Country.

A well-equipped beach that is bigger than it looks.

As you can read in the headline of the article, the beach is 800 metres long and is well worth a stroll from one end of the shore to the other. Of course, there is also a promenade that allows you to do something similar along both the beach and the port, which is highly recommended.

The sand is fine and golden, ideal for sports such as beach football or beach volleyball, and from here you can enjoy privileged views of Hendaye, a French border town belonging to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department.

There are no parking problems, as there is a pay car park just a few metres from the sandy area that allows you to go loaded. It is also adapted to facilitate access for the disabled, as there are access ramps, fixed walkways, amphibious chairs that float on the water, waistcoats, changing rooms, showers and adapted toilets.
