Known as the Magic Island, La Gomera is the second smallest island in the Canary Islands. In fact, it is only 20 kilometres long from north to south. However, in this small territory you can find spectacular natural spots, including a coastline of small black sandy beaches hidden between cliffs.
Today we move to this magical corner of the Canary Islands to discover one of its best beaches. We are referring to Avalo Beach, which is located in the municipality of San Sebastián de la Gomera, also known as La Villa. Would you like to find out more about this beach? Well, all you have to do is take a look at what we have to tell you below!
To the north of San Sebastián de La Gomera, in the direction of Puntallana, is the Playa de Avalo, which, as you can see for yourself by taking a look at the images in our gallery, is characterised by its black sand, combined with gravel and pebbles.
A solitary and wild beach.
What we like most about this place is that it remains wild and, in fact, it is a rather solitary beach. Beyond its black sand, the only thing you’ll find here are palm trees and ravines. In fact, it is home to one of the most beautiful palm groves on the island.
Calm and crystalline waters
Another characteristic of the beach that we would like to mention is that its waters are calm and crystal clear. In fact, the beach is always very clean. What’s more, you should know that you can enjoy absolute tranquillity here. Of course, as it could not be otherwise, it does not offer any kind of service. We leave you with our gallery below, where you will find more images of this beach located in La Gomera. Don’t miss it!
