The three best beaches in the north of menorca

Menorca is, without a doubt, one of the best beach destinations in our country. One of the things we like most about this Balearic island is that it has beaches of all kinds: urban, secluded, small coves, large sandy beaches, white sand, red sand…

Menorca’s beaches can be divided into two main areas: the south and the north. In the first one you will find more vegetation and fine white sand, as well as many tourists and more buildings. On the contrary, in the north the relief is quite rugged and the rocks are rather dark. It is also important to bear in mind that in this area there is less urban development and the beaches are more unspoilt and less inaccessible. Today we are going to tell you about the three best beaches in the north of Menorca! Will you join us?

Pregonda Cove

cala-prgondaFirst of all, we would like to talk about Cala Pregonda, one of the most famous beaches in Menorca. With red sand and a lunar appearance, it offers marvellous crystal-clear waters. The only downside is that you’ll have to walk 30 minutes to get there. If you visit it, make sure you are well equipped, as you will not find any kind of service.

Pilar Cove

cala-pilarWe would also like to tell you about Cala Pilar, an unspoilt beach that is difficult to access and offers golden and reddish sands. Of course, as long as the wind conditions are favourable, the water is completely crystal clear. We are talking about a fairly small sandy area where there are no facilities or many shaded areas, so you will also have to be very prepared if you plan to spend the day here.

Cavallería Beach

playa-de-cavalleriaFinally, we would like to talk about Playa de Cavallería, a beautiful beach in Menorca that is quite popular in summer, as it has good access and its parking is free. If you like diving, we recommend you to go to the islet Escull de Ferragut, being careful with sea urchins.
